Dust and Echoes - In the Oven

I got into the habit of saying that anything that is being anticipated is still “in the oven” and I’m finding myself using that to refer to my books in progress. Fortunately, most people seem to get the meaning because I have once again completely rewritten the first several chapters of Dust and Echoes. Every time I think I am happy with it, I get a new idea and just can’t help but include it. There will come a point where I’ll have to let it go or it’ll never see the light of day.

I do a lot of my best thinking in the early mornings, letting my imagination play through the story or stories in my head. Sometimes a new idea forms, bursting to jump into Simon’s mystery. I won’t tell you too much, since I don’t want to ruin it for you, but I am excited about the inclusion of a type of relic that is so believable for these dark Appalachian mountains.
